Description: A pair of engineering red division-rank strips like those featured on Starfleet uniforms in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture. The item is red fabric on a black felt backing. This style of division-rank strip would have appeared on Starfleet Class-B, C, and D uniforms. Only during this feature film were division strips used to denote rank, in subsequent films they retained their use indicating division but rank was attached elsewhere on the uniform. Only in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture did red division strips appear; in following feature films engineering division was denoted by yellow.
