STAR TREK: “SEXTANT” PROP/SET DRESSING

Description: A presumably functional brass sextant with a corresponding wooden box with a hinged lid and latch. Sextants made appearances in various episodes of both Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine as one was known to have been kept on one of “Captain Picard's” (Patrick Stewart) desk in the episode “Suddenly Human”, and another appeared in a like fashion for “Captain Sisko” (Avery Brooks) in the episodes “Rapture” and “Explorers”. This item, however, may have been meant for Star Trek VII: Generations wherein a deleted scene would have depicted Captain Picard receiving one from his family during the ‘Nexus’ scenes for Christmas. The item in box measures approx. 8.5 X 10.25 X 4.25 inches.
