TR-580 Mark VII Non-Functioning Tricorder from Star Trek: The Next Generation

Description: (Paramount-TV, 1987-94) TR-580 Mark VII Non-Functioning Tricorder. This is a regular tricorder (non-medical), a style of which was used in various <em>Star Trek</em> series. This style of tricorder was used in the <em>Next Generation</em> series for seasons 3-7, the first three seasons of <em>Deep Space 9</em> and the first season of <em>Voyager</em> (Earth years 2366-2371). This version was replaced by the TR 590 Mark X beginning with <em>Voyager</em> Season 2/<em>Deep Space 9</em> Season 4. TR-580s were used in the series for a variety of tasks, including recording time trials and playing holographic messages. The non-functional tricorder is the same style / model as the light-up versions shown in the episode stills. Made of silvery grey vac-formed plastic with small printed labels to look like button and displays, measures 6 ½ x 3 in.
