Description: (Paramount, 1986) Screen-used hero Photon Collector used by Walter Koenig as “Chekov” in the film <i>Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home</i>. It is constructed of resin and features a switch on the back that illuminates two front panels as well as a bank of red sequential lights. This photon collector is visible in the scene where Chekov sneaks aboard the nuclear naval vessel, USS Enterprise, to collect photons from the reactor. The photons are required to repair the dilithium crystals which will enable the Enterprise and its crew to return to the 23rd century with the humpback whales. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Richard Coyle, prop maker for the film, confirming this is the screen-used photon collector. An important and instantly recognizable prop from this film.
