REFNUM: 5001
Description: In the Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, “Kirk's” (William Shatner) son, “David Marcus” (Merritt Butrick) researches the “Genesis” planet which was created in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Incredibly unstable, any life forms in contact with the planet are subject to the effects of rapid aging and evolution. This includes the microbes present on the surface of “Spock’s” (Leonard Nimoy) casket when it was ejected from the “U.S.S. Enterprise” following his funeral in the previous film. The microbes evolved into these orange oversized creatures. Made of foam latex, the creature is painted in shades of orange and brown with dried special effects coatings used to give the skin a moist appearance on screen. There is a slit in the underside of the enlarged portion where a hand was inserted to animate it like a puppet. Measures approx. 109 x 17 x 5 inches.
