Description: A prop item featured in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Dax”; wherein “Jadzia Dax” (Terry Farrell) is tried for a crime that “Curzon Dax” recently became the prime suspect for. This item is the gavel used in the proceedings to decide whether a Trill was responsible for the acts of previous hosts; it is a weighted sphere with the surface broken into roughly, equally-sized geometric shapes, in various shades of brown, but with each fragment broken into still smaller segments, and a gray, resin cast cradle with four legs and an identifiable scale pattern. The sphere's diameter is approx. 4 inches and the cradle measures approx. 5 X 4 X 2 inches.
