STAR TREK: TNG “KLINGON GI’RAL COSTUME” FROM “BIRTHRIGHT: PART I & II”

Description: A costume featured in both parts of the two part Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Birthright”; wherein “Worf” (Michael Dorn) learns that his father may still be alive and sets out in search of him only to find a group of Klingons living in a Romulan prison camp. This costume is that of “Gi’ral” (Christine Rose), a Klingon woman who had married the Romulan head of the camp, it consists of a long-sleeved, full-length dark-mauve dress featuring alternating stripes of faux-fur and braided leather on a suede inset, a matching gorget with vertical pleats and corresponding belt. A sewn in Voyager tag reads ‘Karen Austin’, identifying this costume as being reused in the episode “Barge of the Dead” as “Miral”, the mother of “B’Elanna Torres” (Roxann Dawson), a sewn in Star Trek: TNG tag in the gorget reads ‘Miss C. Rose’, and a costumer’s tag reads ‘Birthright 1&2 241-2. Gi’ral, Christine Rose ‘.
