STAR TREK: TNG “RELAY STATION 47 MODEL” FROM “AQUIEL” | |||
A model featured in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Aquiel”; wherein the “Enterprise-D” goes on a supply run to Relay Station 47 and “Lt. LaForge” (LeVar Burton) falls in love with a woman accused of murder. This item is the model used in shots of the outside of the station in the episode; it is a light-blue/gray acrylic model of a general capsule shape but varying in size along its surface. The top piece features accents of the Starfleet symbol, red detail, and resembles an old 60’s era space capsule; structural beams attach it to the main base of the station that is itself a rounded pentagonal shape featuring its designation as “47 United Federation of Planets” a pylon on either side of the station, ending in an oval-shaped pod (unattached) that resembles the rest of the station and the other with various relays, antennae, and what appears to be a yellow solar panel (unattached). The remainder of the station below the main area resembles the oval-shaped pod with various textured, convex, and concave accents meant to emulate circuitry or other components that would be necessary for a moderately self-sustained, deep space station. A metal pole juts from the bottom with several wires that must have powered untested electronics. The item measures approx. 36 X 26 X 5 inches. |
