1964 first draft treatment of the proposal for Star Trek
(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Sixteen-page typed draft of Gene Roddenberry’s proposal for a new series entitled Star Trek, dated March 11, 1964. In this exciting document, Roddenberry lays out his vision of the one-hour series, including ideas for episodes, and descriptions of main characters including Capt. Robert M. April, the Executive Officer known only as “Number One” (which would be incorporated into the Next Generation series!), and Ship’s Doctor “Phillip Boyce” among others, all traveling aboard their ship the “SS Yorktown”. An excellent piece of Star Trek history!
