|Two pairs of Leonard Nimoy “Spock” ears made from Star Trek (the original series) direct from the family of make-up effects artist Fred Phillips|
|(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Two pair of original latex ears made for Leonard Nimoy’s character, “Spock”, for the original television series. One pair of ears is screen-worn with original make-up still present; the other pair are unused and still show the latex flashing around the edges. These ears were given to his sister-in-law after his brother (her husband) and his nephew (her son), both of whom were make-up effects artists, passed away within a year of each other c. 1974. He intended the gift of these two pair of Spock ears to bring some comfort to her. The ears are accompanied with a signed letter of provenance from Jan Phillips (Fred Phillips’ niece) stating the history of the prosthetic ears, as well as the original mailing box that contained the prosthetics, addressed to Mrs. Harlan Phillips from Fred Phillips. An important pair of original Spock ears direct from Fred Phillips. These are perhaps the best pair of Spock ears – one screen-used, the other in mint unused condition – from the original series to have survived.|
