STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE “ARCHER'S STOLEN PICK-UP LICENSE TAGS”
A pair of faux license tags created for the episode “Carpenter Street” of Star Trek: Enterprise which were affixed to the picture car acquired for use in the same episode. When “Captain Archer” (Scott Bakula) and “T'Pol” (Jolene Blalock) went back in time to 2004 in Detroit, Michigan to stop a Xindi-Reptillian plot to alter history, they were forced to ‘acquire’ a vehicle for use in their investigation. The truck is not available, but the faux license tags are, a pair of molded plastic tags, blue with white raised writing inscribed ‘Michigan’ with a numeric value, distressed by paint to appear used on a vehicle. The second tag is identical except in that it features graphical applications of renewal stickers. Common practice for television and motion picture production is for picture cars to have faux license tags created for on screen use that do not use registered numbers within the state. The items measure approx. 12 X 6 inches.
