STAR TREK I: “ORBITAL OFFICE COMPLEX MODEL COMPONENT”
A large wood frame, three dimensional model piece first appearing as part of the orbital office complex seen in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture. This item found further use as part of the model for “Starbase 375” where it appeared as a docking bay. The item features multiple intricate details made from plastic and resin components with untested lighting with exposed wiring on the external. The interior end features an opaque gel graphical application appearing as a large ‘X' shaped opening when back lit. The exterior of the item reads ‘Trek #168’, and measures approx. 26 X 40.5 X 52.5 inches.

Notes from someone

Sometime

This hangar deck model was created for "A Time to Stand". The close-ups reveal that it was partly created from Maquis raider and Runabout model parts. This also makes it clear, that it was never created for Star Trek I or II, as those model kits were not available back in 1979 or 1982. This is the hangar bay of Starbase 375, seen in several DS9 Dominion war arc episodes.
