STAR TREK: TNG “ARCTUS BARAN COSTUME” FROM “THE GAMBIT: PART I AND II”
A costume featured in the two part Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Gambit: Part I and II”, wherein “Captain Picard” (Patrick Stewart) is presumed dead and the “Enterprise-D” investigates and pursues those they think responsible when “Captain Picard” is actually in disguise on the very ship the “Enterprise-D” is chasing. This costume is for wear by Richard Lynch in the role of the captain of the ship that “Captain Picard” has assumed the identity of “Galen” on, that has kidnapped “Commander Riker” (Jonathan Frakes), and is searching for the parts of an artifact called “The Stone of Gol”, “Arctus Baran”; it includes a full-length, long-sleeved brown jumpsuit with stirrups for the feet, a zip down the back, half of a sleeveless jumpsuit sewn onto a panel of rough, brown leather that is, in turn, glued, Velcro'd, and sewn onto a leather frame featuring various geometric shapes on it, resembles some kind of prosthesis or exoskeleton that follows down the leg and is reinforced with more striped, padded leather on the knees and around the ankles. Also included is a mid-sleeved, mid-riff jacket of the same striped, padded leather, a zip down the front and that, along with all other exterior items, has been distressed to appear “rugged” and for effect. A sewn in tag reads ‘Star Trek: TNG, Richard Lynch’ and the costumer’s tag reads ‘TNG #256 Gambit Part I, Baran, Richard Lynch’.
