STAR TREK VIII: BORG NEURAL PROCESSOR & PHASE MODULATOR FROM “FIRST CONTACT"
A Borg neural processor and phase modulator made for use in Star Trek VIII: First Contact. The Borg neural processor is a device implanted into all Borg drones that contains information received from the Collective. The piece is made of clear acrylic with metal components and black plastic detail. It also has three black tubes attached, multiple decals and a red bead. A button activates rapid sequentially flashing LED lights within the processor. The button is a bit temperamental and sometimes requires being pressed a few times before the lights activate. Measures approx. 5 ¼ x 1 ¾ x 1 inches. The phase modulator appeared onscreen during the scene taking place between “Captain Picard” (Patrick Stewart) and "Lily Sloane" (Alfre Woodard) in the "Enterprise-E" observation lounge. The item is a Starfleet Type III Mark II phase modulator being reworked by Captain Picard to rotate its frequency during weapon fire in an attempt to shoot through the Borg personnel shields. The item is metallic pewter painted resin with green translucent acrylic elements and multiple points of light. The untested electronics function on four V76 PX sized batteries housed internally and are activated by a side mounted switch. The internal circuitry was held in by a length of adhesive tape underneath. Item measures approx. 6 ¼ x 1 ¼ x 1 ¾ inches.
