STAR TREK: DS9 “DENEVAN CRYSTALS” FROM “THE SOUND OF HER VOICE”
A case of Denevan crystals that were allegedly stolen and acquired by “Quark” (Armin Shimerman) who sold them to a Nausicaan entrepreneur in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode, “The Sound of her Voice”. The case is made of heavy-duty gray plastic with a handle on each end. On the lid are copper colored applications and alien script. The case does not seal shut. A button on the lid activates small flashing orange and red LED lights. One red light appears not to work. The lights are powered by two AA batteries (not included) housed behind the inner black velvet padded lining. A special adapter hooks the AA batteries to a 9volt-style battery connector. The adapter is broken and needs to be replaced to house the batteries properly. There are eight clusters of glass crystals inside the case that are glued together and fit into specially made indents in the padded velvet base. Due to time and use some of the crystals have come loose but are included in the case. It appears that a few maybe lost to time since there seems to be more gaps in the clusters than spare crystals. It does not however detract from the overall appearance of the piece. Case measures approx. 25 ½ x 15 ½ x 8 inches.
