STAR TREK: “ENGINEER'S WHITE RADIOLOGICAL SUIT – DIVISION STRIP”
A lot of costume accents for a Starfleet engineer’s white radiological suit appearing variously in Star Trek feature films from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan through Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The items are the backing trim for a division strip worn on the left forearm sleeve of a costume uniform and corresponding engineering yellow fabric to be sewn on to the backing. The backing is made up of black felt bordered by two strips of white fabric and retains yellow threads from the removal of the yellow fabric. The items were not located together, the backing measures approx. 19.75 inches while the yellow fabric measures approx. 17 inches. Upon sewing onto a costume the extra length in the backing would be folded under at the joining seam on the inside of the arm. The yellow fabric not only denotes division but indicates the wearer to be a crewman or officer.
