STAR TREK: ENT “NEUROLYTIC RESTRAINT LOT” FROM “BORDERLAND” | |||
A lot of prop items featured in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “Borderland”; wherein the “Enterprise NX-01” crew needs the help of a renegade geneticist, “Arik Soong” (Brent Spiner), to apprehend a group of his Augments that have taken over a Klingon Bird of Prey and are trying to precipitate a war between then Klingons and Earth. This lot consists of two of the “neurolytic restraints” worn by characters like “T’Pol” (Jolene Blalock) when they are taken captive as slave labor by Orion pirates; they are painted metallic-silver with black details and metal wire side mounted ‘pins’ meant to appear as though they have punctured and grasped the skin of the wearer (the items appeared on the side of the neck of the characters in the episode). Also included is the handheld device that can immediately induce incapacitating pain to anyone wearing one of the restraints when it is activated, it is made from molded resin with metal screw details, and a flashing yellow light. The item is powered by two internally mounted V392 sized batteries, activated by a depression button on the side. A departure from most Star Trek props, the lights will continue to flash at interval when activated whereas most others cease their electrical feature upon release of the button. This item is painted to have a metallic silver sheen that is dulled down by a paint scheme made to distress the item to the point that it appears used and to match the design of the Orion slavers. There are two styles of this prop, one with a raised molded resin texture on top that almost covers the top, the other style is similar, but is raised higher and covers only the same width of the ‘light’. This item is of the first design. The activator device measures approx. 3 X 2 X 0.5 inches and the restraints themselves measures approx. 1.5 X 1.75 X .60 inches. |
