STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KAHN “KAHN’S HENCHMAN COSTUME LOT”
A lot of costume elements featured in the second Star Trek feature film “The Wrath of Kahn”. This lot consists of several items worn by several of “Kahn’s” (Ricardo Montalban) henchmen; two black trousers, both intentionally distressed, with pieces of fabric sewn onto them in an attempt to make them look like were patched and repaired from found objects. There are small holes, rips, and tears, as well as stains, fraying, and ‘patch-working’ throughout. One of the trousers is open all along the back and one is open along the leg but “sewn” back together with lacing and has a sewn in Paramount tag that reads merely ‘Valentine’. Included is a gray, leather choker that retains its softness despite the ensuing twenty-six years and is decorated with multi-colored bits of wire and metal arranged into an aesthetic design. A head wrap composed of multiple strips of blue and gray fabric bound together that completely covers the head and featuring a rubber and plastic “face mask” with a visor to “see out of” in the middle and is denoted for wear by Tim Culbertson as “Khan’s Henchman #3”. A pair of leg wraps composed of quilted under fabric with multiple pieces of further “ragged” fabric attached and generally torn, frayed and distressed in the same way as the previous items and featuring a metal attachment. Another fully-encompassing head wrap with the fabric in blues and oranges this time, a similar rubber and plastic faceplate, metal-colored studs and similar distress; a black glove with half the fingers cut off, distressed with plastic “claws” attached and a plain, un-distressed black glove. A pair of boots covered in faux fur and corresponding distress, brown leather and sand from production still adhering to the soles.
