STAR TREK I: “VULCAN KOLINAHR MASTERS’ UNDER ROBE”
A costume element believed to have been featured in Star Trek: The Motion Picture during the Kolinahr sequence at the beginning of the film. This item is believed to be one of the under robes worn by the Kolinahr Masters during Kolinahr ceremony “Spock” (Leonard Nimoy) was undergoing; it is a full-length, large, flowing, robe in a metallic-brown with pleated sides accentuated by large, rust-colored trim down the front, back, and around the collar; sleeves so large that they flow into the bottom of the robe and do not detach from it, pleated sleeves, and soft, velour lining with stripes in shades of rust. Due to intention or time and storage, the item does not have a working zipper. This item is sturdy and very well made, heavy even; it is believed to correspond to the Vulcan tabards associated to lot numbers 914 or 917 of the Christies, New York, 40 Years of Star Trek: The Collection auction of October 2006.
