A special effects item featured in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Phantasms”. When the crew of the “USS Enterprise-D” becomes infected with creatures that do not exist in the same reality, “Data” (Brent Spiner) begins to detect them in his android dreams. The item is a special effects ‘creature’ made from multiple elements of multi colored of foam rubber with embedded balloons and affixed tubing. When air is forced into the tubes an expansion occurs that generate a throbbing, pulsating effect as viewed on screen, but due to computer generated effects, on a much smaller scale. The item is mounted onto a metal rod painted blue for blue-screen use and the tubes are visible on the outside of the creature, but run through, or around the outside of the tube. Costly physical special effects like this are becoming a rarity in television production. The creatures measures approx. 12 X 3.5 X 3 inches and the rod extends away from it 10.25 inches. |

The lot consists of three bricks of latinum consisting of trapezoidal shaped pieces of wood painted metallic gold, one of the items features strips of metallic gold adhesive and the bottom is not painted; next are five bars of solid cast resin, one with a fleck of paint missing, all with molded ‘etchings’ on the top, a single strip of latinum, and a slip. A prop Starfleet style carry case featured in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Homefront” for use by “Captain Sisko” (Avery Brooks) which morphs into “Odo” (Rene Auberjonois) during a meeting with the Federation President. The item is sturdy vacuum formed plastic with a metallic silver coloration, a hinged lid, and a carry handle that is connected at one end. The lid opens to reveal vacuum formed interiors, one side depicting a ‘screen’, the other features four slots for not accompanying PADD props. The base of the item is gray foam and the hinged lid latches shut. The item measures approx. 18.5 X 17.25 X 5.25 when sealed and is adorned with several Starfleet inventory applications, a color copied LCARS style faux button panel, and a white Starfleet emblem application. The item also comes with both original and photocopied artwork created by John Eaves for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The artwork was all located in a folder labeled ‘#483 Homefront’ and five of the sheets of white paper depict the carry case, one has been photocopied to a smaller size and inscribed ‘for Mike’, another has been colored with marker that is visible on the reverse. One sheet depicts a possible matte painting or special effects shot of Paris, France in the episode with the Eiffel Tower visible in the center surrounded by futuristic buildings, another two sheets depict low yield phaser mountings for the episode, and two more depict starship exterior schematics which did not appear in the episode yet were located with the folder. One is of the “Future Enterprise” from the final episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, another is labeled ‘Modified Galaxy class’ and feature adhered photocopied additions. The sheets measure approx. 17 X 11 inches. The selection also comes with a copy of the script from the episode “Homefront” listed as a ‘first draft October 13, 1995’ and a script for “Paradise Lost” which immediately followed the episode. The scripts were not photographed. |

This costume is the “First Contact-style” Starfleet uniform, called this because it was first used in the feature film of the same name and went on to be the standard; this particular costume is a variant on that theme and consists of a long-sleeved, black, uniform jacket featuring blue-gray, quilted shoulders, a Velcro patch for a commbadge (not included), no Operations Gold division colors around the cuffs like usual but with a more sturdy zip that the norm. STAR TREK “24TH CENTURY STARFLEET CADET UNIFORM LOT” | |||
A lot of costumes featured variously throughout 24th century Star Trek episodic television. The first is a cadet from the future Starfleet depicted in the final Voyager episode “Endgame”; it is a long-sleeved, full-length, gray jumpsuit featuring black piping across the chest and around the collar, a Velcro patch for an unattached but included future Starfleet commbadge, what looks like a wrap-around front but is actually sewn closed, and stirrups for the feet. A sewn in tag reads ‘Dino Maye’ and the costumer’s tag reads ‘ST: Voyager, #748, Starfleet, Dino Maye’. Next is a Cadet uniform like the one seen worn by Wil Wheaton in the TNG episode “The First Duty”; a long-sleeved, full-length, black jumpsuit featuring red, cadet division colors across the shoulders, black piping around the collar, a Velcro patch for a commbadge(not included), a black belt, and stirrups for the feet. A sewn in tag reads ‘Louise Bale’. The last uniform was featured in the DS9 episode “Valiant” for wear by a Red Squad cadet named merely “Parton”; a long-sleeved, full-length, gray jumpsuit featuring Operations Gold division color, quilted shoulders, a Velcro patch for a commbadge (not included), hoops at the waist for tools, pockets on the legs (one with a slight stain), a matching gray belt, further division color around the cuffs, stirrups for the feet, and a long-sleeved, blue-gray undershirt. STAR TREK: DS9 “TR-116 RIFLE PROP” FROM “FIELD OF FIRE” | |||
A prop rifle featured in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Field of Fire” for use by Nichole de Boer in her portrayal of “Ezri Dax” or “Chu'Lak” (Marty Rackham). In the episode, the item appears as a prototype projectile weapon that was outfitted with a transporter to allow its chemically fired bullets to transport to a location a few centimeters from its target. The item is made from high quality molded rubber painted metallic pewter and silver with silver colored metal accents. A metal hood is present on top of the item and the two gun barrels on the item are silver colored metal. The faux ‘trigger’ button is painted red within the trigger guard. The item measures approx. 40 X 9.25 X 2.5 inches. There is a degree of wear visible where the paint has come away from the item in several places, but overall, this prop retains its excellent qualities and is really quite something to see. |

The interior of the prop features differing colored fluorescent bulbs as evident by their changing hues in the episodes “In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II” and “Zero Hour” of Star Trek: Enterprise. Used in the former episode as a relay through which warp plasma control was regulated “Phlox” (John Billingsley) removed them to sabotage the stolen “U.S.S. Defiant” during its attack on alien rebels. Previously used on the Xindi super weapon to regulate energy, “Captain Archer” (Scott Bakula) rearranged them to create an inversion sequence that would destroy the weapon before it had an opportunity to fire on Earth. The item measures approx. 30 inches and 2.5 diameter inches. |

The item features a pivoting handle on the top and two more on the side that it shugly against the case for a smaller profile, the rims of the hinged lid are silver colored metal, and the bottom of the case features sturdy industrial strength roller wheels. The exterior of the prop case is adorned with a graphical application colored green-blue with white Xindi iconographic signage. Inside the case, three more similar rectangular graphics exist of differing sizes and themes, as well as an asymmetrical round one that depicts the graphic of the Xindi-Arboreal mining guild in the episode. The lid seals shut by way of three heady duty latches. The item measures approx. 51 X 21 X 22 inches. |

A lot of three differing set dressing items appearing variously in set pieces of the “Enterprise NX0-01” on Star Trek: Enterprise. The items appeared as part of engineering set pieces and in other locations. The first, largest of the lot, is a ‘Tektronix’ name brand oscilloscope that has been altered for screen use. The item is painted metallic gray with multiple additional varying faux rubber buttons placed across its instrument face. The item features several rotating knobs, buttons, switches, and a blue colored readout screen. This untested device also feature multiple inputs in the reverse and is suitable for deck mounting. It features a Type-B three prong plug for standard American electricity and comes with a silver colored metal frame shaped for it to appear flush against the set wall from which it was carefully removed prior to dismantling. The item measures approx. 19 X 18.5 X 5.5 inches. The next item is of similar design, a practical item altered for set use, suitable for deck mounting, with additional series specific faux buttons and applications adorning the face. The item features multiple push buttons and two switches. The reverse is covered in a wood panel that has been inscribed ‘12volt DC only in here’ and a red and black wire set is visible. The item measures approx. 19 X 4 X 5.25 inches. The third item in the lot follows the trend, but is a ‘Radio Shack sound mixer’ with three channels and an output set, catalogue number ‘32-3012’. The item’s instrument panel is painted to match the color scheme of engineering, and features painted detail lines sectioning off the variety of sliders, knobs, buttons, and switches. The item has a type-A two prong plug configured for standard American power and measures approx. 19 X 9.5 X 3.25 inches. All of these items are untested for their original uses. |
