STAR TREK “FEATURE STYLE KLINGON MILITARY UNIFORM” | |||
A costume like those featured in various Star Trek feature films. This costume is a Klingon military uniform, it consists of a dark-gray, leather/vinyl pleated, jacket featuring textured, vertical stripes, a dark-gray, shoulder “armor” piece with sturdy rubber accents around the trim, metal tabs, wood and metal accents on the chest; metal chain around the left shoulder attached to a metal aglet, black faux fur sleeves with resin cast Klingon House badge on the left arm, and horizontal, black rubber tubing around the right arm. Gray, overall-style trousers multiple sites of pleating and stirrups for the feet; a trademark Klingon belt featuring the trapezoidal buckle and five raised dots on it. A black leather gorget featuring black, rubber piping and Klingon iconographic symbols, matching gauntlets, gray, vinyl disruptor holster with resin cast accents, a pair of black, leather gloves with trimmed fingers and “claws” on the ends, segmented, spine piece, knee-high, black leather boots, and black vinyl ‘spats’. Unattached but included is a resin-cast, Klingon communicator badge that affixes to the sleeve like the House badge. There are several elements that distinguish this costume from the series versions and heighten its rarity; the presence of fabric between the stripes on the jacket, the chain and the aglet on the shoulder are both metal, the spine piece is segmented and resin cast instead of all one piece and foam, the trademark belt has a matching ammo case on it, the presence of a communicator badge AND a house badge, and the fact that the trim around the “shoulder piece” is smooth, sturdy rubber instead of the textured diamond-shaped pattern. The costume has been intentionally distressed to appear ‘used’ or ‘Klingon’ as the case may be. Multiple labels and a sewn in Enterprise tag all denote wear by Michael Bravehart and a costumer’s tag reads merely ‘Klingon, Complete Outfit, Feature Style’. This costume is certainly one of the last remaining in such a complete and rare order but is also one of a very few Klingon costumes thus far found. |
