Michael Dorn “burned” Starfleet tunic and comm badge from Star Trek: The Next Generation
(Paramount-TV, 1987-94) This trademark uniform is mustard yellow and black with yellow trim around the neck; it has been “broken down” by the costume department and appears to have been burnt with small holes on the arms and across the top of the chest. The plastic silver and gold communicator badge is fixed with a piece of Velcro to the chest. Worf wears this style of uniform in the third season episode “The Bonding”, when he is caught in an explosion during an expedition to a barren planet once home to the Koinonians.

“Burned” Starfleet uniform from Star Trek: The Next Generation
(Paramount-TV, 1987-94) Black and gold Starfleet duty uniform with stand-up collar featuring gold piping along the top, worn by cast members during and after the third season of TNG. This particular uniform has a zip that closes the front of the costume and features a patch of Velcro on the left breast for attaching the comm badge. The costume has been distressed to resemble “burn” holes in the back of the tunic, with black smudges on the front indicating that this crewmember was burnt quite significantly in the episode.
