Space Dock construction drone miniature with attached blue-screen rod from Star Trek: The Motion Picture
(Paramount, 1979) One of the highlights of Star Trek: The Motion Picture is the dramatic "unveiling" of the new USS Enterprise in the Spacedock. Whizzing around the majestic white galleon are yellow and white construction drones, of which this is a particularly fine example. |

STAR TREK I: THE MOTION PICTURE “JAMES DOOHAN” ‘CLASS-B' SHIRT
Perhaps the most beloved of all Starfleet engineers is Star Trek's “Montgomery ‘Scotty’ Scott” portrayed by the amazing James Doohan. Doohan’s bright personality and well rounded acting ability allowed him not only to portray the favored ‘miracle worker’ of the “U.S.S. Enterprise” in Star Trek: The Original Series but also to play the voices of so many aliens and strange beings in Star Trek: The Animated Series. This uniform shirt from Star Trek I: The Motion Picture is enigmatic due to its make up. A tan colored ‘Class-B’ uniform shirt with sewn on Starfleet insignia patch with silver backing depicting the wearer to be part of the 'security division’, shoulder epaulettes indicating the rank of lieutenant, and a belt mounted ‘bio-monitor’ affixed to the uniform. The Western Costume Co. tag is inscribed ‘James Doohan’. While we know “Mr. Scott” to have commanded the “Enterprise” on several occasions, he was always placed in that position due to his rank, lieutenant commander until he was promoted to captain.

New information brought to light by controversy surrounding this item lends to the likelihood that it appeared in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture on one of James Doohan’s sons as they portrayed Starfleet personnel in background roles. However, the item features a sewn in ‘Western Costume Co.’ tag reading ‘James Doohan’. |

STAR TREK I: THE MOTION PICTURE “SPOCK” SPACESUIT
This authentic spacesuit was featured prominently in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture when “Spock” (Leonard Nimoy) left the “Enterprise” to conduct a mindmeld with the ‘V'Ger Probe’. Made from brown, orange, and white materials with insets of plastic and metal accents, this costume features an astonishing array of ribbed details at the knees, elbows, and around the chest and waist. Due to time and storage conditions the costume features a degree of wear as some of the orange of the exterior has bled into the white of the interior and internal padding has collected at the ankles and cuffs, yet the costume retains its overall intact appearance. The costume comes complete with a pair of gloves, a collar that Velcro’s into place around the neck and on the shoulders, and a pair of spats that clasp onto the legs of the jumpsuit. The costume also features a molded chest frame for a helmet; the frame features internal foam padding with multiple cutouts, a buckle and belt and lace holes on the side to keep it together; screw holes and screws are evident and both the back and the front feature multi-color painted accents and details. The helmet maintains it’s large fishbowl like faceplate and has internal padding, mounts for attachment to the frame, and an approximate 8.5 X 1.75 inch rectangular hole cut into the upper right hemisphere of the item for an undisclosed reason revealing internal foam. The interior of the gloves are inscribed ‘L. Nimoy’, the chest frame reads ‘Spock’ with a section of the foam missing, and the costume jumpsuit reads ‘Nimoy’ at the upper back. This incredible, once in a lifetime costume is an exceptional artifact from 1979 and its condition is excellent given the materials available at the time. The workmanship still holds up and the style it simply something of an era that would be difficult to duplicate. |

STAR TREK I: TMP – TAN STARFLEET JUMPSUIT - MALE
This Starfleet uniform was made for Star Trek I: The Motion Picture in which “Admiral Kirk” (William Shatner) resumes command of the U.S.S. Enterprise to intercept a mysterious and destructive space cloud heading towards Earth. It was most likely used by a background actor in the Recreation Room scene where the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise have gathered for a presentation by “Admiral Kirk” (William Shatner) on the dangers they're about to face. The tan jumpsuit has a pocket on the right leg, a zip up the back and pleats up the shins. Matching tan shoes accompany the jumpsuit. |

STAR TREK I: “WHITE RADIOLOGICAL SUIT”
A costume featured in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture for wear by actors portraying engineers on board the “USS Enterprise”. The costume is an off white colored full length jumpsuit with ribbing around the elbows of the sleeves and a similar circular area in the center of the chest, and a metal breath mask connection that is holding on by a thread. The costume comes with several unattached accoutrements, a pair of gloves with red ‘thermal' tubing on the back of each hand, a pair of hip side ‘thermal’ units with similar red tubing, a pair of silver colored metal line rings, a red collar with red tubing, snaps and Velcro closures, a pair of engineering division strips for wear on the shoulders, a metallic gold and copper colored accent for wear in the center of the chest, a white placement for an attached metal badge indicating the rank of ‘able seaman’, a silver reflective bar (not pictured), and a sturdy plastic name tag engraved ‘STRAETH’ the style of which appeared in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The right leg of the costume features faded red stain believed to be special effects ‘blood’ and the collar of the uniform itself exhibits a departure for radiological suits in that it has a gray ribbed collar sewn on. |

STAR TREK I: TMP “BETELGEUSIAN” MASK
The “Betelgeusians” are from the planet Betelgeuse II and at least two served as background crew onboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the V'Ger incident in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture. As stated by Memory Alpha, the name and origin of the species was created during the film’s production rather than revealed on screen. This full head mask is made of latex painted blue with small semi-circle grooves over the surface to create the effect of skin. The ears are pointed and the beak-like nose area is red with a small hole in the center. There are holes for the eyes and mouth. There is a split up the back that Velcro’s closed, allowing for the mask to be put on. Due to time and storage the base of the mask has lost its pliability. |

STAR TREK I: “V'GER – SPOCK MINDMELD MODEL PIECE”
A large model piece created for Star Trek I: The Motion Picture made to be part of the ‘V'Ger’ probe which approached Earth. With the “USS Enterprise” held within it, “Spock” (Leonard Nimoy) left the ship and encountered multiple visual records of V’Ger’s travels across the galaxy. Coming upon this piece, “Spock” recognized a complete reconstruction of the ‘Epsilon IX’ space station held within the probe, the same station V’Ger destroyed earlier in the film. The item is a large formation of epoxy ‘lips’ with an incredible amount of fiber optic placements. The item is gray in color, molded with excruciating detail, some more amazing in person than on screen, with a wood backing which was replaced by images of ‘Epsilon IX’ while on screen, and with four separate quadrants of fiber optic cables connected to the four interconnected pieces making the item come to life when lit. By simply placing a flashlight or other illumination (not included) on any of the collected ends of the fiber optics a section of the lips will light; with a larger light source the entire piece shines with what must be hundreds of lighted windows. A variety of sensor antennae dot the outside of the item, some are broken off after a thirty year existence, but enough are intact or accompanying to retain the original appearance. The item ships inside its own, original wooden crate, outfitted with wheels. Some of the photographs used are screen captures from DVD in an effort to reproduce the item’s original appearance, the close-ups indicate the level of intricate detail, and the item has been kept in its case upon location in an effort to prevent any danger to befall it. This one of a kind, model is one of the last of a dying breed, fully three dimensional movie models are much less cost effective than computer generated renderings and thus, this piece from a bygone era must be preserved. In its case, the item measures approx. 38.25 X 109 X 39.5 inches.

STAR TREK I: “BETELGEUSIAN COSTUME”
A costume created for Star Trek feature films to represent a ‘Betelgeusian’. The costume is a lavish, shiny gold colored robe with long kimono style sleeves, and two sets of jewelry necklaces. The necklaces are made from what appears to be a light molded metal, painted to appear varying shades of metal, and are laced together by black nylon. They represent a pair of large felines with elongated paws that are meant to be mounted on the shoulders, a set of heraldic birds, and a cat-like face medallion, all oversized and seemingly meant to be sewn onto a black tabard that is no longer present. The robe features snaps and buttons for the tabard. Two sets of the jewelry are present, one is intact. The costume also comes with three rubber masks painted to appear as alien flesh in hues of blue and red. One mask is full and ready for display, the other two have been flattened and pressed during their time in storage, though all three are not in perfect condition, one maintains its aesthetic quality. |
