STAR TREK: ENT “ELECTRONIC BORG ARM” FROM “REGENERATION” | |||
This incredible working electronic Borg arm is the only working arm that has ever been discovered in the warehouse. It was made for use on the Star Trek: Enterprise episode, “Regeneration”. The basic framework is made of resin hinged at the elbow with screws. Attached to the resin frame is a foam rubber elbow joint painted black, silver and gold. Due to time and use the foam section is degrading however it remains in place and still flexes with the movement of the resin sections. Small non-degraded pieces of foam rubber are attached onto the resin surface for detail. Multiple black rubber and plastic tubes protrude from the arm as well as six metal fins that splay out and retract when a ring attached to a wire is pulled manually inside the arm. The most impressive feature is a working metal rotating drill bit on the tip of the arm. It is powered by a standard 9Volt battery (not included) housed inside the upper portion of the arm. It is activated by two switches, the first of which turns the power on and a second switch to adjust the rotational speed of the bit. With practice the speed-adjusting switch can be held inside the arm and manually operated. The on/off switch is on a long wire that was most likely run through the rest of the costume (not included) and activated by the free hand. A secondary mechanical piece made of resin is on the side of the arm however this is no longer working. Inside the arm is a grip bar to hold it on. A removable latex Borg skin piece covers the opening to the arm complete with eight working multicolored LED lights on various lengths of wire. The wires to power the LED lights have a strange six-pin configuration of which five pins are active. When the piece was taken to an electronics store they had never seen the configuration however with the use of a standard 9 volt cap and wires, the pins were jerry-rigged to enable the lights to function. The additional wires and battery are included with the arm. This no doubt was a highly expensive piece to make and is a true collectable. Measures approx. 26 ½ x 9 x 6 ½ inches. |

A Tarkalean costume that has been partially assimilated by the Borg featured in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “Regeneration”. Their costume is teal simulated leather trousers with blue accents and black elastic stirrups and suspenders with a matching top jacket and belt. The costume is distressed around each shoulder and on the left breast has been ‘torn’ open to reveal the onset of Borg assimilation whereby there are exposed special effects applications of pale ‘skin’ with Borg implants. The uniform also has a sewn on metal badge and a matching belt. The sewn in Enterprise tag reads ‘Mark Chadwick’ and the costumer’s tag reads ‘Enterprise #049 “Regeneration” Mark Chadwick, Male Tarkalean’. |
