STAR TREK I: “V'GER – SPOCK MINDMELD MODEL PIECE”
A large model piece created for Star Trek I: The Motion Picture made to be part of the ‘V'Ger’ probe which approached Earth. With the “USS Enterprise” held within it, “Spock” (Leonard Nimoy) left the ship and encountered multiple visual records of V’Ger’s travels across the galaxy. Coming upon this piece, “Spock” recognized a complete reconstruction of the ‘Epsilon IX’ space station held within the probe, the same station V’Ger destroyed earlier in the film. The item is a large formation of epoxy ‘lips’ with an incredible amount of fiber optic placements. The item is gray in color, molded with excruciating detail, some more amazing in person than on screen, with a wood backing which was replaced by images of ‘Epsilon IX’ while on screen, and with four separate quadrants of fiber optic cables connected to the four interconnected pieces making the item come to life when lit. By simply placing a flashlight or other illumination (not included) on any of the collected ends of the fiber optics a section of the lips will light; with a larger light source the entire piece shines with what must be hundreds of lighted windows. A variety of sensor antennae dot the outside of the item, some are broken off after a thirty year existence, but enough are intact or accompanying to retain the original appearance. The item ships inside its own, original wooden crate, outfitted with wheels. Some of the photographs used are screen captures from DVD in an effort to reproduce the item’s original appearance, the close-ups indicate the level of intricate detail, and the item has been kept in its case upon location in an effort to prevent any danger to befall it. This one of a kind, model is one of the last of a dying breed, fully three dimensional movie models are much less cost effective than computer generated renderings and thus, this piece from a bygone era must be preserved. In its case, the item measures approx. 38.25 X 109 X 39.5 inches.

STAR TREK: DS9 "I.K.S. NEGH'VAR MODEL STARSHIP" VENTRAL
First appearing in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Way of the Warrior" as the new flagship of the Klingon Empire, this model of the "IKS Negh'var" arrived at "Deep Space Nine" on a mission to secure the Alpha Quadrant from Dominion invaders believed to have taken control of the Cardassian government. The ship was only ever seen from the underside in an effort to give the viewer a sense of its awesome size and thus the detail present on this model is excellent while the dorsal side remains featureless, though intact. Other, later ships of the same class arrived in episodes like "Shattered Mirror" and "The Emperor's New Cloak" but the model used in those episodes was a 30 foot long mock-up made to balance out the scale of the "USS Defiant" model. In fact, at approximately seven feet long, this model has perhaps a more timely history as being the first of its class since the similar ships appearing in Star Trek: The Next Generation's "All Good Things…" were of a different class altogether. Imagine! This impressive item hanging from a ceiling, seen as it was meant to be seen, striking awe into its viewers as only Klingon style design can! The ship is made of wood painted green with raised detail in mauve, dark green and yellow. Small green painted dots cover the ship to simulate windows. On each wing are warp nacelles with electrical capability however the electronics are untested. There are also numerous LED lights over the ship that are also untested. Weapons towers are on each side of the body with intricate detail. Several of the towers components are not attached but can be glued back on. On the right wing is a Klingon emblem application and on the other wing is red Klingon text. A weapon on the front of the nose is also detached but can be glued. The ship has wire supports around the nose, attached to the wings and in the center. The underside of the ship is smooth and painted green with the power cord coming out of the center. Measures approx. 84 x 68 x 13 inches. |

STAR TREK: TNG “EARTH STATION McKINLEY MODEL”
A large model created for Star Trek: The Next Generation which was used as “Earth Station McKinley” and “Starbase 234”. The item is made up of a metal and wood framework with a vacuum formed plastic and molded resin exterior made to appear as a facility with arms clawed underneath for starship docking. The item has a Starfleet blue and a rust red color scheme that is painted on with variously painted details and is fitted with fiber optics generally and their corresponding internal electronic light source. The item is untested and the wires for the lights extend away from the model where the metal brace connects. A tag reads ‘5000volt mini-power supply powered by 12v. DC’. The item is housed inside its own specially crafted wooden crate and was located as is, with significant damage due to time and most likely gravity. One of the arms is completely disconnected, several small items have been broken off but are accompanying. The external model is cracked where the weight of the arms has split the item and hangs on. The item is speculated to be capable of restoration and is an excellent companion piece to other models as it was seen in episodes like “Redemption, Pt. II”, “Unification Pt. I’, “The Best of Both Worlds, Pt. II”, “Family”, and “All Good Things…”, among others. The item measures approx. 32 X 73 X 15 inches and was photographed upside down in its case. |

STAR TREK: “MATCHING BUILDING MODELS”
A pair of matching building models created for Star Trek episodic television to represent buildings on a skyline. The items are mounted on foam square-shaped bases with plastic tubes running up to create a pedestal, and three metal rings representing the actual structure of the buildings. A variety of graphical applications representing windows and detail are applied to the items and both feature an ‘elevator’ positioned on the pedestal at differing heights. The items are painted light blue and measure approx. 8 X 7 X 14.25 inches and 8.75 X 9.5 X 21 inches. The circular structures at the top have come off their pedestals but are included and the graphical applications have lost a degree of their adhesive quality, yet the overall aesthetic of the items is still present and viable. |
