RENE PICARDS'PADD FEATURING HIS REPORT ON STARSHIPS
Following Captain Jean-Luc Picard's (Patrick Stewart) capture and assimilation into the Borg Collective and his subsequent rescue and return to humanity he was given a little off time. This was featured in a beloved episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation called "Family" in which we see the captain's return to La Barre, France, his birthplace, and the family vineyard run by his brother, Robert. In the episode, Picard's nephew Rene explains to his uncle that he has written a report about starships and that it has a great deal to do with the famous captain. The item up for bid in this auction is the actual prop PADD (Personal Access Display Device) meant to serve as Rene's report should Captain Picard actually be seen reading it on screen. Unfortunately, that scene was never included in the episode and this heartwarming prop was not part of the show. It is however, built with great detail as the beige PADD features gold trim around a black 'screen' and 'button' housings. The 'screen' includes text that explains in the fashion of children what starships are and which one is the biggest. Furthermore it details who is in command of that ship as well as what it looks like and who wrote the report. Measures approx. 17 x 10 x 1/4 inches.

STAR TREK: TNG “ALIEN KACHINA COSTUME LOT W/ MASKS” FROM “JOURNEY'S END”
A lot of costumes featured in a scene that was later cut in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Journey’s End”; wherein “Wesley Crusher” (Wil Wheaton) returns to find the Enterprise-D is attempting to forcibly relocate some Native Americans from a planet that has recently come under Cardassian control. This lot includes three costumes and masks, caricatures of what they really represent, that are from a cut scene in the episode during Wesley Crusher’s “vision quest”; the first is a stylized Ferengi costume and mask consisting of a long-sleeved, full-length, olive-colored jumpsuit featuring sewn in feet, silver and gold-colored painted shapes, a black, over jacket with similarly colored accents and “X” shapes. The mask itself consists of a brown foam “face” featuring black eyes with metal-colored pupils, a black foam nose, a similar mouth with pointed teeth, foam tubing and gold accent for the “ears”, matching “earrings”, metallic looking fabric from the lobes of the forehead down the back of the mask and trimmed in black, slightly iridescent feathers. The second is a similarly styled Vulcan costume featuring a long-sleeved, full-length jumpsuit in red, blue, and black stripes, gold around the collar, matching, attached gloves and feet, clasps to attach a waist cape with a tight, multi-colored waffle board design on one side and a gold-thread floral print on the other side. The mask features a red “face” and blue features to the face, matching, stuffed ears, red feathers around the neck and a yellow-orange and red Vulcan steeple hat similar to those worn by Vulcans in the original series feature films. The last item is merely named “Tail-head” and the head resembles what could be described as a “mummified Twi’lek” from the Star Wars universe; a long-sleeved, full-length, teal-colored jumpsuit featuring a purple diamond pattern, dark-green and white accents, attached gloves and feet, a matching skirt with planets and zig-zags painted on it, and a gold-colored stitched lining. The mask is a face mummified with tan-colored faux suede strips, with no place for a nose or mouth, one tentacle growing from the base of the skull, another partially snaked around the head, feathers jutting out from just above the ear, and green and yellow fabric along with a faux wreath around the neck. A sewn in tag denotes all items as from “Journey’s End”, the “Ferengi” for wear by Scotty Marklyn, the “Vulcan” by Tom Donahue, and the “Tailhead” by Victor Sanchez with costumer’s tags to match. Items have minor wear from time and storage in addition to grass etc. from production use. |
