A prop item appearing in the engineering section of the “U.S.S. Defiant” in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Starship Down”. The item is a cylindrical container made from machined metal and glass components with embedded lights. The metal cap is attached to a glass container that pulls freely from the item and when inserted depresses an interior know believed to activate the lights on the side. The item is powered by two 9volt batteries held internally where a switch is also present. At this point no electronic functionality could be performed. The item measures approx. 11 X 3 inches diameter. The item appeared briefly onscreen with “Miles O’Brien” (Colm Meaney).
