Record summary
A set of twenty-one concept drawings that are each applied to black poster board and are not originals. The items depict various bridge concept ideas created for Star Trek: Voyager which feature some design elements that may have been later included in other Starfleet ship sets. Interesting unused designs include screen consoles hanging from the ceiling, computer terminals not facing forward, or all stations facing the command chair, very round designs and completely formulaic designs with all right angles, a viewscreen that wraps around the entire bridge (a concept that was incorporated into a model of the “USS Excelsior” for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock but not used), very enclosed bridges, very open ones, and more. One drawing is of a very aerodynamic (subspace dynamic?) Oberth-Class design, some other outer hull designs are present which are departures from typical Starfleet vessels. A design for the Vulcan lander from Star Trek VIII: First Contact is present showing its landing path and apparently designed by John Eaves. A sketch of Risa from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Let He Who is Without Sin” is present, highly detailed, with lots of vegetation. There is a design for an engineering section with a very Galaxy-Class style warp core, an access corridor, a shuttle bay with two shuttle concepts in it, a holodeck with what appears to be crystals growing out of all quarters, a sickbay operating table taken from the perspective of an outside viewing, and a large council chamber incorporating the emblems of Bajor, the UFP, Klingons, and the Cardassians. Finally, a set of Star Trek VII: Generations “USS Enterprise-D” bridge updates are present involving the additional bridge computer terminals on the left and right of the command pit as well as a concept for improving the appearance of the transporter room. More than half of the poster boards measure approx. 19 X 13 inches, the others measure 18 X 12 inches.
