STAR TREK: DS9 INFIRMARY SCANNING DEVICE
From the episode “Things Past” of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, this item was placed around the head to monitor brain wave functions while a patient was in a coma. “Dr. Bashir” (Alexander Siddig) used one on “Garak” (Andrew Robinson) and another on “Dax” (Terry Farrel) after they arrived at the station, comatose, from a run in with a plasma storm in their region of space. The prop is made from molded plastic components with working lights that flash in sequence both green and red, and a series of clear slides with metallic silver and gold accents. It measures approx. 15.5 X 9 X 17 inches.
