STAR TREK: ENT “XINDI-INSECTOID SHIP ACCESS TERMINAL” FROM “THE HATCHERY”
A piece of set dressing featured in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “The Hatchery”: wherein the “Enterprise NX-01” finds an abandoned Xindi-Insectoid ship with a hatchery of unhatched eggs that “Captain Archer” (Scott Bakula) becomes bewilderingly attached to. This is one of the access terminals on the extremely decentralized Xindi-Insectoid ship and consists of a large, circular, mauve-colored base featuring an upside-down cone-shaped shaft leading to a sphere that is bisected by a flat, circular piece of yellow plastic with graphical applications of Xindi technology, dark-gray, claw-like controls. The clear plastic, upper half of the globe featuring black detail lines dividing the hemisphere into different geometric shapes, two screws that attach it to the bottom half, an opaque, white plastic hemisphere under the clear one that is divided into either even sections with the same black detailing as the first. Inside the second half-sphere is a cylinder of the same plastic, perforated, that an energy-saver light bulb fits into and shines out of when the plug protruding from the base is plugged in. The item measures approx. 40 inches in height and 20 inches in diameter at its widest point.
