| A pair of engineering red division-rank strips like those featured on Starfleet uniforms in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture. The item is red fabric on a black felt backing with a thin gold thread embellishment. This style of accent would have appeared on Starfleet Class-B, C, and D uniforms. Only during this feature film were division strips with rank used, in subsequent films they retained their use indicating division but rank was attached elsewhere on the uniform. Speculation persists that the rank indicated may be ‘crewman second class’. | |||
