| A prop laptop computer featured in “Broken Bow” the premiere episode of Star Trek: Enterprise for use by students in “Hoshi Sato’s” (Linda Park) languages class. The item is an injection molded plastic computer learning tool for children altered for screen use in the episode. The item features a full English language keyboard, directional actuator, and ‘mouse-style’ buttons. The ‘display screen’ is covered in a graphical application depicting a futuristic 22nd century Starfleet style Windows-like program. The various windows are labeled ‘Exo Language Skills’, ‘Event Schedule’ including a listing for ‘Prof Hoshi 0900’, ‘Study Aids’, and a window listed as ‘Notes’ indicating ‘more emphasis on the KRGLTT’. The item opens on a hinged lid and when closed latches shut. The lid features a rubber faux button and the bottom features a Starfleet inventory application indicating ‘Secondary Actuator’. The item still functions when powered by four AA sized 1.5volt batteries thus emitting sound when the buttons are pressed (though there is no way to navigate the screen while it is covered). The item measures approx. 10.5 X 9.25 X 1.25 inches when the lid is closed. | |||
