STAR TREK: DS9 “PUP PROBE” FROM “THE FORSAKEN”
A model probe created for the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “The Nth Degree” and altered for screen use in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “The Forsaken”. The item is a clear acrylic tube with molded resin elements adhered to its exterior. The item is made to appear ‘cracked’ to allow for an internally positioned light source to be placed inside and shine through. The item is was originally painted metallic bronze and altered for later use to be painted gray, some of the bronze is still present giving the item an excellent aged appearance. Also, the item is adorned with multiple highly detailed arrays positioned pseudo-symmetrically. The item separates into two piece and features a hole on one side for a mounting bracket. Screencaps from two episodes depict how the item was used during production, no internal electronics are currently present. The item measures approx. 16.5 X 3.5 inches diameter with an 8 inch trilateral girth. Two of the arrays have been removed and can be replaced on the item. It comes in its own specially crafted wooden crate that measures approx. 21 X 15 X 9.5 inches.
