STAR TREK I: “STARFLEET ENGINEER’S WHITE RADIOLOGICAL COSTUME” – FORCED PERSPECTIVE | |||
A specialized Starfleet engineer’s white radiological costume like those appearing in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture as part of the forced perspective engineering set, made intentionally small for child sized actors to appear far away when the set was in fact much smaller than it appeared. The costume is a white jumpsuit with a ribbed waist and elbows with multiple accompanying unattached elements: a center chest accent, a black foam ribbed collar, a pair of small white gloves with unattached thermal accents, a reflector accent worn on the waist, a pair of metal rigging loops, a pair of thigh mounted thermal accents, a left sleeve upper arm thermal accent, a pair of small sized operations yellow division strips for the shoulders, a yellow division strip for the left forearm sleeve, a white rank placement and a silver colored metal badge indicating the wearer to be a ‘chief petty officer’, a commendation bar, and two ‘5 year service’ pins. Most of the additional items are made for costumes that appear in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country as the costume was originally intended for use in Star Trek I: The Motion Picture and still retrain visible discoloration on the left forearm sleeve where a specialized, yet not accompanying, Starfleet emblem patch was placed. The item also comes with child sized uniform boots. This item represents the last known configuration of this style of costume yet to be located. |
