| Foam rubber head piece for 1 of the 3 Vions from this, a favorite original episode, some scuffing and scratching and interior mounting remnants. Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are trapped on an abandoned planet with three big brained aliens, and one beautiful female who is mute, and who McCoy christens 'Gem'. The Vions begin to injure the three earthers to test Gem, as she has the capacity to absorb their pain and cure their condition, but at great cost to herself. She must pass this test of compassion and selflessness to prove the worthiness of her race which faces imminent destruction, and which the Vion's have the ability to save. The Vions can save but one of a number of races doomed to extinction by the imminent expiration of their sun. Moody, intelligent, a great episode, and an extremely evocative artifact. | |
