Space Dock construction drone miniature with attached blue-screen rod from Star Trek: The Motion Picture
(Paramount, 1979) One of the highlights of Star Trek: The Motion Picture is the dramatic "unveiling" of the new USS Enterprise in the Spacedock. Whizzing around the majestic white galleon are yellow and white construction drones, of which this is a particularly fine example.

JEM'HADAR ATTACK FIGHTER MODEL
The fearsome Jem'Hadar became a terrible reality for the crew of Deep Space Nine after an incident during a camping trip turned rumor into reality. Their vaguely beetle-like ships were a testament to their prowess in battle and when the Dominion War began, space filled with ships just like this one. Made for episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine this model exhibits distress to elicit an appearance of damage and battle duress. Its missing aft coverplate is evidence as well as a series of scored markings to indicate "hits" by enemy fire. The model measures roughly 29x30x7 inches.

No eBay page has been found for this item, but it is an on-line store item, so there may not be one unless it doesn't sell.

STAR TREK: DS9 “DEEP SPACE NINE” WOODEN STUDY MODEL
An enormous wooden study model of the famous space station “Deep Space Nine” featured in every episode of the Star Trek series of the same name. Built by the Cardassians to process ‘uridium' ore during their occupation of the planet Bajor during hostilities with the United Federation of Planets the station was eventually abandoned by its government when the Cardassian Union withdrew from Bajor. The UFP was asked to administer the station and maintain a presence there to bolster the strength of the impoverished Bajoran system. When a stable wormhole was discovered by “Commander Benjamin Sisko” (Avery Brooks) in the nearby ‘Denorios Belt’ the station was moved to become the stopover point for ships going from one end of the wormhole to the other. This wooden model features the same impressive alien design as the feature models used on the show with six curved docking pylons, a habitat ring and a pair of sculpted Styrofoam details made to represent ‘the promenade’ and ‘Ops’ on the top and ‘reactor control’ on the bottom. One emitter array is present on the habitat ring. This impressive model is capable of being hung from three cords attached to the upper pylons. The item measures approx. 50.5 inches tall and 72 inches in diameter.

STAR TREK VII: “STELLAR CARTOGRAPHY STUDY MODEL”
Who can forget the stunning visual effects created for the ‘Stellar Cartography' lab on the “U.S.S. Enterprise-D” during Star Trek VII: Generations? While tracking down their captured crewman and his kidnapper, “Captain Picard” (Patrick Stewart) and “Data” (Brent Spiner) enter a lab that has vastly changed since its first appearance in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Lessons”. This study model is part of what made it all possible; a white foam core model on a 12 X 12 inch square base standing approx. 7.75 inches high of a ¼ inch scale set. The model features a round base supporting an entryway that mounts a centrally positioned workstation with a rail. A clear plastic ‘screen’ is evident surrounding the model through which can be seen the interior. A ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation Feature’ application is present in the 24th century title font, and another application indicating the production designer (Herman Zimmerman) and Art director (Sandy Veneziano). The model stands on a quartet of feet and due to storage conditions shows some signs of wear in that the plastic ‘screen’ is peeling from the model in one location due to the white tape having lost some of its adherence. Also, a section of the ceiling appears to have been mislaid if in fact the item was ever supposed to have included it.

STAR TREK: “BUILDING MODEL”
A model of a circular building featured variously in Star Trek episodic television or feature films. The base of the model is plastic painted gray with a graphically detailed application in the inset, a glued on pedestal of similar plastic mounted in the center rising up with changing widths to a wider ringed ‘office/living' tower. The duo of levels appear to have a translucence as does a top mounted bulb on the roof. Possibly used as a part of the San Francisco cityscape in episodes of Star Trek; Enterprise; Paris in Voyager or The Next Generation, or Starfleet Command in Deep Space Nine. Application details have peeled due to time and storage conditions but the item is in top notch condition otherwise.

STAR TREK: VOYAGER “USS DAUNTLESS BRIDGE MODEL – HOPE AND FEAR”
Having accessed a communications array, the crew of “Voyager” received an encoded message indicating nearby coordinates. Upon arrival they discovered a starship presumably sent from Starfleet to carry them home employing experimental ‘quantum slipstream drive' technology much faster than warp speed. The ship was a dream come true and the bridge was light years more advanced than that of the intrepid “USS Voyager”. The item up for auction is a foam core model of the bridge of the “Dauntless”, the ship discovered in the episode “Hope and Fear”. The model features two secondary areas adjoining the main bridge rotunda, a three dimensional work of art eventually realized in a full scale, life sized set featured in the episode. The central bridge depicts an inset helm bank and chair at the fore, a centrally located command chair and a series of guard rails around them. The sides of the bridge walls are open to give viewers a full view of the interior, a section of the walls are present for the full effect. The front of the bridge is a step up to the main viewscreen (open for a view aft), and the rear reveals the exit to attached corridors. Two model miniature Starfleet characters are present for scale depicted in ‘First Contact-style’ uniforms, glued into place, one of the guard rails is unattached butt most likely to be placed at the fore of the bridge. The entire model is attached to a base showing some degree of damage due to time and storage conditions in that a corner is cracked but still attached due to the sturdiness of the top layer of the base, and a small corner under the identification plate on the base is broken away. The ID plate reads ‘Star Trek: Voyager, Episode #194, “Hope and Fear”, Dauntless Bridge” in caps and in the ‘Voyager-style’ font. The entire item measures approx. 22 X 36 X 7.5 inches.

STAR TREK VIII: “USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701” GOLD SHIP MODEL
A plastic model dipped in gold colored metal and purposefully broken for on screen use in the feature film Star Trek VIII: First Contact. Featured during the scene in which “Captain Picard” (Patrick Stewart) and “Lilly Sloane” (Alfre Woodard) debate over the reality that his actions against the Borg are revenge driven, the model is broken along with several others when in a moment of rage Picard lashes out with his weapon and destroys the display case depicting the famous line of Starfleet vessels also titled “USS Enterprise”. The model is that of the “USS Enterprise NCC-1701”, the ship made famous by Star Trek: The Original Series, and comes in three pieces; ‘the saucer section' and the neck that connects it to the next piece, ‘the secondary hull’ with still loosely attached portside warp nacelle, and the unattached starboard warp nacelle. The pieces measure approx. 10.75 X 2.5 inches, 14.25 X 7 X 5, and 5 X 12 inches respectively. Some evidence of patina (a green metal discoloration) exists.

STAR TREK I: “V'GER – SPOCK MINDMELD MODEL PIECE”
A large model piece created for Star Trek I: The Motion Picture made to be part of the ‘V'Ger’ probe which approached Earth. With the “USS Enterprise” held within it, “Spock” (Leonard Nimoy) left the ship and encountered multiple visual records of V’Ger’s travels across the galaxy. Coming upon this piece, “Spock” recognized a complete reconstruction of the ‘Epsilon IX’ space station held within the probe, the same station V’Ger destroyed earlier in the film. The item is a large formation of epoxy ‘lips’ with an incredible amount of fiber optic placements. The item is gray in color, molded with excruciating detail, some more amazing in person than on screen, with a wood backing which was replaced by images of ‘Epsilon IX’ while on screen, and with four separate quadrants of fiber optic cables connected to the four interconnected pieces making the item come to life when lit. By simply placing a flashlight or other illumination (not included) on any of the collected ends of the fiber optics a section of the lips will light; with a larger light source the entire piece shines with what must be hundreds of lighted windows. A variety of sensor antennae dot the outside of the item, some are broken off after a thirty year existence, but enough are intact or accompanying to retain the original appearance. The item ships inside its own, original wooden crate, outfitted with wheels. Some of the photographs used are screen captures from DVD in an effort to reproduce the item’s original appearance, the close-ups indicate the level of intricate detail, and the item has been kept in its case upon location in an effort to prevent any danger to befall it. This one of a kind, model is one of the last of a dying breed, fully three dimensional movie models are much less cost effective than computer generated renderings and thus, this piece from a bygone era must be preserved. In its case, the item measures approx. 38.25 X 109 X 39.5 inches.
