(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Dating from the original series run, this oversize (8 in. x 15 in.) birthday card for an unnamed crewmember – but believed to be script researcher Joan Pearce – is inscribed on the inside from “The Star Trek Gang” and signed by Gene Roddenberry, Bob Justman, Leonard Nimoy, Matt Jefferies (who also sketches a small drawing of the Enterprise), Fred Freiberger and twelve others.

This drawing appears on-screen in the primitives “Holy Bible” and was used by Capt. Tracey to manipulate them into thinking Spock was the devil! A key prop from a pivotal moment in the episode. Originally part of the collection of Star Trek script researcherJoan Pearce.

We could not have made it at all without him. Gene Roddenberry”. A wonderful association and an important testament from Star Trek’s creator regarding William Ware Theiss, who designed all of the show’s spectacular costumes.

Original Starfleet Tricorder from Star Trek
(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Original series Tricorder constructed of aluminum, wood and plastic with vinyl shoulder strap, measuring approx. 7 in. tall x 5 1/8 in. wide and weighing 1.6 pounds. This Tricorder differs from the other examples we have handled in that it is covered in black vinyl (intended for closer shots) instead of being vaccu-form plastic or fiberglass with molded leather grain finish. The top flips open to reveal a small monitor screen, three small buttons and three knobs, and a small brass grid square. Designed by Wah Chang, this multipurpose scientific and technical instrument was developed for Starfleet and incorporated sensors, computers and recorders in a convenient and portable form. Originally acquired from Dick Rubin, a veteran Hollywood property master who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

(NBCTV, 1966-69) Uhura’s iconic ear communication device / transmitter, worn by Nichelle Nichols as “Lt. Nyota Uhura” in virtually every episode. The piece is constructed of turned aluminum with a form-fitting clear resin ear piece which is fastened to the aluminum stem with a small screw, accessed by a small hole in the ear piece. Originally acquired from Dick Rubin, a veteran Hollywood property master who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. An important and exceedingly rare piece of Star Trek history.

Dr. McCoy original hypospray from Star Trek
(NBC-TV, 1966-69) This vintage hypospray prop is constructed of nickel-plated brass and has a working plunger, at the top of which McCoy would place a capsule of 23rd century medicine (not included) for injection into the patient. The prop measures 8 in. long with the plunger extended, and 6 in. long with the plunger depressed. The main cylinder is approx. ¾ in. in diameter, and the prop weighs in at a very substantial 9.7 oz. Originally acquired from Dick Rubin, a veteran Hollywood property master who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. An exceedingly rare Starfleet prop from the original Star Trek series. The quality and construction is of the very highest caliber.

(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Handheld medical tool, a “portable wound healer” constructed of blackpainted wood with machine metal tip and sides. Known as an Anabolic Protoplaser tool, this particular example with the cylindrical head was intended to be used for massive injuries. This protoplaser was originally painted red, but was later painted black for use in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, in which configuration it now remains. Originally acquired from Dick Rubin, a veteran Hollywood property master who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Intended for minor injuries, this tool was created for the Original Series and used in Sickbay. This protoplaser was originally painted red, but was later painted black for use in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, in which configuration it now remains. It can be seen clearly in TMP near the end of the film when Nurse Chapel uses it to examine Spock’s ear. Originally acquired from Dick Rubin, a veteran Hollywood property master who worked on Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Fur covered foam Tribble, approx. 9 in. in diameter. The interior is hollow, as made for an air bladder which made the Tribble appear to be “breathing”. (The air bladder is not present). A great special effects piece from the show. Most surviving Tribbles from this episode are much smaller and do not have the hollow interior for the air bladder, making this one especially desirable.

Made for Robert Brown as the mentally unstable scientist “Lazarus” in this memorable episode, most likely for some of the stunt scenes as this costume is undamaged and unsoiled, whereas the hero costume was heavily distressed. Inside Western Costume label printed, “Bob Brown”.

Khan gold mesh sleep suit costume from the Star Trek episode “Space Seed”
(NBC-TV, 1966-69) “Sleep Suit” worn on the “Botany Bay” spaceship, constructed of a gold mesh fabric. Unidentified, though it is possible that it was used by Ricardo Montalban in his role as “Khan” judging by its size. This costume is one of the jewels of Star Trek couture, and was used in one of the most memorable episodes – an episode which spawned the second and arguably the best “Star Trek” film of all, “The Wrath of Khan”.

(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Prop dagger used by Elaan to kill Lord Petri in the third season episode “Elaan of Troyius”. Fabricated without a tip, it is made of a wooden handle and an aluminum blade, guard and pommel. Pink faux jewels at the middle of the grip and at the pommel. Measures 6 ½ in. Some wear, otherwise in fine condition.

Betelgeusean ambassador’s robe from Star Trek: The Motion Picture
(Paramount, 1979) This large colorful ambassador’s robe is made of a fabric personally selected by Cecil B. DeMille in 1939, and then lost in storage on the Paramount lot until found by costume designer, Robert Fletcher, who was assigned to garb the many aliens in the production, as well as to design the new Starfleet uniforms. The ambassador’s robe was originally made for someone who is 6’ 10” tall.

(Paramount, 1982) Rust & crème-colored heavy jacket with medical (green-bordered) “galaxy” patch on the left shoulder. Only three of these heavy jackets were made for the film, worn by Kirk, Saavick and McCoy. Some pockets and jacket hardware are not present. Fabric tears on shoulders and back have been professionally repaired; overall, in very good condition. A rare piece of Star Trek wardrobe, instantly recognizable and highly visible on screen.

(Paramount, 1991) Latex facial and head appliance with hand-set hair and incredibly realistic make-up. Made for the human assassin who was in disguise as a Klingon in the climactic assassination scene. The mask has a vertical tear from behind the ear down to the neck, most likely incurred when the actor removed the appliance after filming the scene. A very nice original appliance from the film. The craftsmanship is absolutely superb.

(Paramount, 1994) Dark gray rubber and spandex costume with blue and purple reflective square paste-ons. Includes tunic, vest, two sets of leg guards, a pair of gauntlets, and pair of shoulder epaulettes. Some of the square paste-ons have fallen off the costume. Worn by William Shatner in his seminal role as “Captain James T. Kirk”. The sky-diving scene in which this costume was worn was deleted from the final version of the film.

(Paramount, 1996) This prop is constructed of cast resin painted silver with multiple full-color graphics. Hinged at the lower edge, the protective cover swings open to reveal a full complement of high-quality graphics resembling the lighted function of the Tricorder. This “TR- 590 Tricorder X” was most likely used for close-up shots that did not require the full lighted version.

Jonathan Frakes 19th century officer’s uniform worn as “William T. Riker” from Star Trek Generations
(Paramount, 1994) This 19th century-style officer’s costume consists of cream-colored pants with suspenders, shirt, vest, navy-colored coat and matching hat. Each garment has internal Star Trek VII costume labels handwritten “J.F.” (the label for the vest is typed “Jonathan Frakes”, but is faded). Seen in the holodeck sequence on the Enterprise 1701-D, where the crew holds a ceremony to promote Worf to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. The ceremony is conducted using a 19th century sailing ship and corresponding uniforms.
