HERO ILLUMINATING MEDICAL TRI-CORDER AND SCANNER USED BY ROBERT PICARDO AS “THE DOCTOR” IN STAR TREK: VOYAGER
(Paramount TV, 1995-2001) This impressive hero tri-corder is made of cast resin painted silver, and has several embedded LEDs that illuminate and variously oscillate when the hinged cover is opened. A “TR-590 Tricorder X”, this prop was used by Robert Picardo as “The Doctor” in many episodes of the series. Most significantly, this tri-corder features a machined aluminum medical scanner which is housed in a small cut-out on the back side of the tri-corder; the scanner can be removed and used for close examination of patients. When the small brass microswitch on the side is depressed, the side and front-facing LEDs of the scanner light up and oscillate. A fantastic hero tri-corder and scanner with several illuminating features! The workmanship on these pieces is extraordinary. Also includes the original black holster with belt clips for attachment to a Starfleet belt.

Two pairs of Leonard Nimoy “Spock” ears made from Star Trek (the original series) direct from the family of make-up effects artist Fred Phillips
(NBC-TV, 1966-69) Two pair of original latex ears made for Leonard Nimoy’s character, “Spock”, for the original television series. One pair of ears is screen-worn with original make-up still present; the other pair are unused and still show the latex flashing around the edges. These ears were given to his sister-in-law after his brother (her husband) and his nephew (her son), both of whom were make-up effects artists, passed away within a year of each other c. 1974. He intended the gift of these two pair of Spock ears to bring some comfort to her. The ears are accompanied with a signed letter of provenance from Jan Phillips (Fred Phillips’ niece) stating the history of the prosthetic ears, as well as the original mailing box that contained the prosthetics, addressed to Mrs. Harlan Phillips from Fred Phillips. An important pair of original Spock ears direct from Fred Phillips. These are perhaps the best pair of Spock ears – one screen-used, the other in mint unused condition – from the original series to have survived.

SALE: Hollywood Auction 23 ESTIMATE: $1000 - $1200

William Shatner Starfleet wrist communicator from Star Trek: The Motion Picture
(Paramount, 1979) This original prop armbandstyle wrist communicator is cast in resin with a metal band, and painted crème with black detailing and a reflective strip affixed to the top. The inside armband is written in light pen, “Kirk”. Made by Brick Price, this is one of only a few hero pieces that were fabricated from resin; all of the similar watches made for background personnel were made of vaccu-form plastic. Minor crack on the edge, which is virtually unnoticeable and does not affect the overall presentation, and the original inside foam padding on the wrist has since deteriorated; otherwise, the piece is in very good condition for its age. An excellent Starfleet prop from Shatner’s re-emergence as the venerable Capt. Kirk, newly promoted to Admiral!

Screen-used gold-plated NC-1701 Enterprise miniature, smashed by Capt. Picard with his phaser rifle in Star Trek: First Contact
(Paramount, 1996) This miniature NCC-1701 Enterprise set piece is dipped in 24k gold, and measures approx. 22 in. long. This model was one of several Enterprise miniatures displayed in the observation lounge, and played a key role in one of the film’s most dramatic moments: when Picard comes to the realization that his vengeance towards the Borg is interfering with his best judgment to save the crew and sacrifice his ship, he launches into a fit of rage, and smashes the trophy case where this and the other Enterprise models were displayed! This particular miniature has suffered some damage from one of the takes, and was repaired at the Nacelle struts between take 18. A great screen-used piece from one of the best scenes of the film.

Stunt Bajoran phaser from the early episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
(Paramount TV, 1993-99) Stunt Bajoran phaser constructed of rubber with finelydetailed paint scheme of bronze, brown and red with gold accents and black handgrip. This phaser is in remarkable condition for a stunt phaser, as most of the extant stunt weapons exhibit paint flaking and other imperfections from age and use. Most notably, it has the original color scheme which was used only in the first few episodes. It was later decided that this color scheme was too close to the Cardassian design, and the color scheme was changed for the remainder of the series, as well as for subsequent shows featuring this phaser. Shows some signs of cracking/crazing to the paint, but remains in exceptional condition overall. A rare early Bjoran phaser from DS9.
