STAR TREK VIII: “CAPTAIN PICARD – EARTH 2063 AWAY TEAM COSTUME
A costume featured in Star Trek VIII: First Contact for wear by Patrick Stewart in his portrayal of “Captain Picard”. Following an attack on Earth, the “USS Enterprise-E” was forced to follow a Borg ship back in time to the year 2063, a day before the historic moment known as ‘First Contact', the point when Vulcans and Humans meet for the first time. The event eventually led to the foundation of the United Federation of Planets, thus if the Borg stopped First Contact the results would leave Earth ripe for conquest! The lot is the 21st century away team costume of “Captain Picard”, a set of wool trousers, a long sleeve shirt with a hidden button front and no collar, and a sheepskin full length coat with a leather collar. The coat features multiple pockets, two interior, two deep exterior, and permanently upturned leather cuffs which match the collar. The trousers feature zip and button ankle cuffs and a sewn in original manufacturers tag reading ‘Dominic Gherardi Custom Tailoring, Patrick Stewart, March 1996’. The costume also comes with a pair of black leather boots made by ‘Rugged Footwear Company’ with leather additions affixed to the ankles which zip over the laces and labels inside reading ‘Picard’. The costumer’s tag reads ‘Picard 21st Century’. Of all remaining “Captain Picard” 21st century away team costumes this lot is the only one containing the outer coat which has been thus located. The items were located in the Captain Picard collection.
